Burda sizes 36, 38, 40, 42, 44
exactly on seam line. Press allow-
ance on upper back edge to the
inside. Working from the right side
and using the twin needle, stitch
1 cm (
3

8
") from fold, thereby catch-
ing allowance.
Materials:
Stretch jersey, 135 cm (53") wide:
sizes 36, 38: 1.35 m (53"),
sizes 40, 42, 44: 1.40 m (55").
Vilene Bias Tape.
Twin needle.
Recommended fabrics:
Stretch jersey. Use only jerseys with
two-way stretch.
Paper pattern:
The pattern pieces are printed on
12 sheets, each framed by a thin
line. Wait until all of the sheets
have been printed. Lay the sheets
in the correct positions (see extra
sheet with the overview of the
printed sheets). Cut each sheet
along the thin lines at the top and
right edges. Begin with the lower
left sheet and glue all sheets
together, exactly on the thin lines
Now cut out the pattern pieces.
Important: Seam and hem allow-
ances are not included on the pat-
tern pieces.
Cutting:
Seam and hem allowances:
1.5 cm (
5

8
") on seams and edges
and 4 cm (1
5

8
") for hem.
1 Front with strap,
on fold
Turn hem allowance to inside.
Working from the right side and
using the twin needle, stitch 3 cm
(1
1

4
") from fold, thereby catching
hem.
Please note:
Stitch seams with a
special stretch stitch or with a nar-
row zigzag stitch. Stitch hems with
a twin needle to maintain elasticity.
Fold belt piece in half lengthwise,
right side facing in. Stitch long
edges together, leaving 5 cm (2")
unstitched at each end. Press seam
open (on the edge of the ironing
board). Turn belt right side out.
Stitch narrow edges together,
right sides facing. First stitch 8 cm
(3
1

4
"), then leave approx. 5 cm (2")
open before finishing seam. Pull
the open long edges through this
opening to the outside. Stitch the
open long edges together, then
push them back in place again.
Sew remaining seam opening closed
by hand or edgestitch it closed, by
machine.
On armhole edges of back piece,
press allowance to wrong side.
Working from right side and using
twin needle, stitch 1 cm (
3

8
") from
edges, thereby catching allowances.
Finish lower edge of facing. Lay
facing on front and straps, right
sides together. Stitch together
along armhole edges, strap edges,
and front neck edges, leaving nar-
row edges of straps open. Trim
seam allowances. Clip allowances
into corner at center front. Turn
facing to inside. Press edges.
Lay back on front, right sides
facing. Pin side seam edges to-
gether, making sure to
not
catch
facing. Pin facing to side seams
edges, over the back piece. Stitch
side seams. Lay facing on inside of
front again.
